I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate bit version. I downloaded us zip file and I am not sure what I should do next with the unzipped files.

Unfortunately in your case it's going to be up to the hardware manufacturer to provide them, and this just may not happen.

I've tried to get one working before as well, its the fact that its a GS and not just a G, the speed booster linjsys is what breaks this. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New".
Sure it has built-in wireless but it's not detecting hardware like it used to.

Now wsb54gsv2 doesn't work either as of Ubuntu 8. I ask because you haven't said if you installed it or not. Additionally, it would be useful to describe what steps you have taken to determine that this adapter doesn't work.
Windows seven has done a fantastic job with suppling drivers for most hardware. Bleh, Operating Systems always get worse they never get better they have a strong point then decline from there.
